Part-time Job

　　兼職工作

　　When my son was a high-school sophomore, he gota part-time job sacking groceries at a supermarket.He came home all smiles.

　　我兒子在一所中學(xué)讀二年級(jí)時(shí)，在一家超級(jí)市場(chǎng)找到了一份包裝食品的兼職工作。他滿面笑容地回到了家。

　　"How was your first day?" I asked.

　　“第一天感覺(jué)如何?”我問(wèn)。

　　"It was great, Dad," he replied. "I got to talk to somegood-looking girls."

　　“好極了，爸爸。”他答道，“我跟許多漂亮的女孩子說(shuō)話了。”

　　Since Stephen is not very talkative, I asked, "What did you say to them?"

　　由于斯蒂芬不善言談，我問(wèn)道：“你跟她們說(shuō)了些什么?”

　　"Do you prefer paper or plastic?"

　　“你是喜歡紙包裝還是塑料包裝?”

　　Early Shopping

　　It was Christmas and the judge was in a benevolentmood as he questioned the prisoner. "What are youcharged with?" he asked.

　　時(shí)值圣誕節(jié)，所以法官在審訊犯人時(shí)動(dòng)了惻隱之心。

　　“你為什么被控告?”他問(wèn)道。

　　"Doing my Christmas shopping early," replied thedefendant.

　　“我圣誕節(jié)購(gòu)物太早了。”被告回答。

　　"That's no offense," replied the judge, "How earlywere you doing this shopping?"

　　“這并沒(méi)有犯法。”法官回答：“你多早就去購(gòu)物了?”

　　"Before the store opened," countered the prisoner.

　　“商店還沒(méi)開(kāi)門(mén)呢。”犯人回答道。
